So there have been a lot of musicals coming out lately, and I love them all. Thought it would be easier to post them generally, haha. So okay, The Phantom Of The Opera was amaizing. Oh I love that movie. Minnie Driver was awesome, Gerard Butler as the Phantom was awesome and let's face it, he's hot. Emmy Rossum (Christine) was great. I don't really care for Patrick Wilson though, he played Raoul. But I don't like Raoul either so, he struck out there haha. In November, the Rent movie is coming out. I am uber-excited about that cause it is one of my all time favorite musicals and it starts almost the entire original broadway cast, which means my favorite, Idina Menzel (she was recently the original Elphaba in Wicked, the musical). Plus Jesse L. Martin will be in it too (usually we see him in Law and Order but he'sa musical theatre guy as well) he is just an amaizing singer and he goes solo for one of my favorite songs of the show and it is a just a beautiful heartbreaking moment, and the part where I will be sobbing, haha. And the soundtrack for the movie comes out soon, can't wait for that. Woohoo. I am too excited.

I have to agree, my sister borrowed Phantom from one of her friends and had me sit down and watch it with her. I absolutely loved it so much that i went out and bought it the next day. my favorite scene is the masquerade ball. the colors and the dancing and the music......i could go on for forever about it.
And i can't wait to go see Rent in November. I just took my sister to see it on Broadway for her first time. she was singing all the songs and she never stopped smiling. the preview i saw yesterday for it looks great! i want to buy my ticket now for it. i love the fact that they are starting to bring the broadway musicals to the screen again. i wonder what they will do next.

I love the masqurade ball too. It's beautiful!! I also love the Don Juan performance and the "Down Once More" song/scene at the end there. It is so powerful when all 3 principles are singing their hearts out at the same time and there's crying and anger and....oh it was just awesome!!
Yea the stage show was awesome, I saw Rent back in middle school, when it was touring near me. I don't remember it word for word cause it was so long ago, but I remember the general parts of it and remember loving it! haha. And I have the music practically memorized from listening to the CD forever.
The next musical set to come out will be Mel Brooks' The Producers starring Nathan Lane and Matthew Brodderick. SHould be out around Christmas. It's gonna be good. It's a hilarious show! Hehehe.

down once more is probably the song i play the most on my ipod. i have to listen to that song at least once a day. you're right the three principle voices are so strong and so full of emotion at that point that it's so moving. i can't wait to see the producers too. do you know that there is stilll a waiting list for that? it's such a popular show. so i guess ill just wait and watch it on the silver screen
